Hi Ballard Church family,

As a church leadership team we have been keeping a pulse on the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19 and how it is impacting our community. In light of the recent announcements from our Washington state governor Jay Inslee, we are going to be making changes to the way we operate as a church. Among the largest of these changes will be pausing our Sunday morning gatherings until further notice, and instead implementing the following things starting this Sunday:

·      First, we will be taking our Sunday services online. Starting at 9:00am Sunday, head over to ballardchurch.com from the comfort of your own home, where you will find our online Sunday experience. This will look a little different from our normal Sunday gathering but our goal remains the same, to help people find and follow Jesus.

·      Second, we will be starting a church wide bible reading plan through Proverbs. In a season that will include an inevitable increase in personal time (cue introverts rejoicing) this is a great time to focus on a personal faith steps. Bible reading might be new for you, or maybe it is a daily ritual you already have. Either way, by unifying around the same passages together as a church, I believe we will see God grow a unity in us from a distance. Each day we will read just 1 chapter from Proverbs starting on Monday March 16th with Proverbs chapter 1. Tune in Sunday for more tips on this as well as follow along on our social media.

·      Finally, we will be hosting live hangouts each Wednesday night at 7pm on Instagram and Facebook. A time to answer questions, pray, discuss the bible read-through, and more. If no questions, prayer requests or thoughts on the Proverbs reading get submitted, Taylor and Brandon have offered to perform a reenactment of Shakira and J-Lo’s halftime show. No one wants that, so get on social media and ask your questions live or email us at info@ballardchurch.com!

I am so thankful that we live in a time in history where these options are possible! Yes, we will all have to be open minded with what it looks like to engage with God and His church in this season. Throughout history though we see the church persevere, and be a hope to the world. When we do that well, I am confident we will see amazing advancements take place both in our own lives and God’s Kingdom!
