THERAPEUTIC PLAY PROGRAM

As a church we declare that it is NOT OK for children in our city to go without food, without a home and with limited access to early education and care.  Therefore, in partnership with UGM we provide a unique and ongoing program of therapeutic play and educational services to serve children experiencing homelessness.

How We Partner:

1)     Awareness We will aim to educate the congregation on the issue of orphanhood, what are the root causes, what are the solutions, and how Abide is approaching this issue. Once we are educated, we can become advocates, and will work with Abide to advocate for this issue in our own community and the world.

2)   Relationship We will aim to create a relationship of depth with Abide, by connecting with families who are receiving services there, as well as the staff providing services. There will be different ways to do this in an ongoing way.

3)   Fundraising We will aim to raise financial support once a year to support Abide's work, which we believe is sustainable, effective, and dignifying.

PLAYSPACE

Playspace is more than just a way for children, parents, and families from Ballard Church to connect. We open Playspace to mom's and dad's across the city as a way to provide a tangible and much needed service to the kids and families in our area. The role of volunteers from Ballard Church is crucial as we seek to provide a fun and safe environment for these families. For more information about helping out, contact bethany@ballardchurch.com or sign up at the BC Info Area.
